effections

long lost strangers
incomplete lovers
nothing but friends [for the benefit of others]

they can not
just
be–

–cause [and effect]/affections
always swap places

when neither knows not
where the other stands

  1. Gosh, this just drips with honesty and hesitation.

    This is one of those that sticks with me. Simple words but there’s much depth. Love the word play too. So many levels to this, and so much to ponder, but then I suppose it all comes down to uncaging your heart.
